Leefest in memory of Lee Newhall raises significant amount
Thrombosis UK were delighted to receive a cheque for £4320.00 from John and Paul Sudbury raised from an event earlier this year. The event was called Leefest in memory of Lee Newhall who died September 2016 age 25 of a pulmonary embolism. The night was packed with live music including ‘Bandeoke’ and the club was packed to rafters. A massive £2160 was raised on the night and was matched by Santander group under their matched fundraising initiative. The amount raised has exceeded everyone’s expectations and has spurred on talk about a further event next year.
Clare Reynolds, our Project Development Officer went along to receive the cheque and also spoke on the night. She met with John, Liz and Paul Sudbury and also Lee’s grandad and mum Paula pictured above. Again we would like to thank all involved including the band members of the Gardens for raising such a fantastic amount and look forward your next event.
