Fundraising income accounts for the majority of income Thrombosis UK receives each year.
Our fundraising Lead, Clare Prince, personally manages and helps all our fundraisers to ensure everyone has the guidance and support required to make your fundraising as successful as possible.

Fundraising for a Thrombosis UK can be any task or event that raises money, from selling cakes at work, social media birthday fundraisers, quiz nights, football tournaments to more traditional sponsored events.

Help….
Making sure you have enough helper preparing and running your event is important! Allow plenty of time to secure reliable helpers and to talk with them about what help and time they can give, so all tasks are covered.
Advertise….
Once you have all the above in place you will need to advertise your event. Social media especially local community groups are brilliant for this. Thrombosis UK can also assist and we have a range of promotional materials available. Simply email [email protected] to find out more.
Running your event….
Live events may accept cash payments, but many, as well as online events use platforms such as Paypal, Just Giving, Facebook Donate to collect payments. This makes collecting instant, easy and keeps a running total of funds raised!

This is often the easiest way to raise funds for Thrombosis UK and are quick and easy to set up. Most platforms now offer a way for your followers to donate to your chosen cause.
Facebook and Instagram are the popular, with the option to set up at specific fundraiser for a reason such as a birthday or anniversary or to simply have a donate button on your post.

It is very important to share your story and include details on why Thrombosis UK made a difference and means so much to you, so that your friends and followers can really understand and are inspired to join you in supporting. Yes! We have lots of marathon places including Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh via our charity partner Run for Charity click here: Run For Charity
We do not currently hold any bonded places for the London Marathon, and so ask all interested to apply for the ballot.
We have places for all the events in the Great Run series via our charity partner Run For Charity
For the Great North Run, we ask participants to apply directly to the Great North Run via the annual ballot.
Yes! Please check with the event organiser, and providing they are happy we welcome and are grateful to everyone who wishes to fundraise for Thrombosis UK.
We supply branded stickers for collection pots and these can be ordered from [email protected]. The cost of postage has made it too expensive for us to continue to provide collection buckets.
Yes! Runners, walkers, hikers and those doing similar activities will automatically be sent a free T shirt once they register their event via the ‘Let Us Know’ form: https://forms.office.com/e/p7E6Szqzv1

Your support really is important to us and our continued work, and so we will always try our best to provide support. This may be via a video message, letter or quote for your advertising and media coverage, and whenever possible, if asked, we will try to attend, however we have a very small team and so it is not always possible to attend in person.
