QUESTIONS IN PARLIAMENT ABOUT VENOUS THROMBOEMBOLISM (VTE)

Navigating the challenging waters of health-related anxiety, especially after being diagnosed with a blood clot, can feel overwhelming. Realising that each question and concern shared by those who have experienced a venous thromboembolism (VTE) is laced with apprehension and a quest for understanding, we’ve crafted this dedicated space.

Written questions, answers and statements

Written questions allow MPs and Members of the House of Lords to ask for information on the work, policy and activities of Government departments, related bodies, and the administration of Parliament. Oral or written statements to Parliament are also made by the Government and others to inform both Houses of their work. Written statements are normally used to put the day-to-day business of Government on the official record and in the public domain.

In England

For the Houses of Parliament, you can look up questions, answers and statements here: https://questions-statements.parliament.uk

In Northern Ireland

Members may table up to five questions for written answers each day.

Further information is available here: http://www.niassembly.gov.uk/assembly-business/questions-for-answer/

In Scotland

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP who is not a member of the government. They provide a means for MSPs to get information from the Scottish Government. They are a critical part of the work of the Parliament.

There are two types of parliamentary question:

  • Written questions, which receive a written response
  • Oral questions, such as Topical Questions, which are answered in the Debating Chamber

In Wales

Members of the Senedd (MSs) may ask oral Senedd questions to the First Minister, Welsh Ministers, the Counsel General and the Senedd Commission about any matter falling within their areas of responsibility.
