In April 2024 the friends and family of Janet Curry joined together for a walk to remember Janet’s mum and son, Benji, who both tragically lost their lives through a venous thromboembolism (VTE).
The walk was from the steps at Black Rock to Marconi’s Cottage and back. Refreshments were provided at Marconi’s.
For a family to experience one death due to thrombosis is hard but to experience two is devastating. It’s so important that events like these not only raise valuable funds but also awareness of VTE, so that no family might be spared to experience what Janet’s has.
Janet’s family raised almost £3000 for Thrombosis UK! By organising the walk themselves they could let as many families and friends as possible, of all ages and abilities, join in making it a real family affair.
