Lewis’ fundraising journey from the beginning – The Three Peaks Challenge!

When Lewis initially contacted the charity, he expressed his desire to fundraise in memory of his girlfriend Sophie. He had opened a GoFundMe page and his idea was to do the Three Peaks Challenge.

In events such as these, fundraisers usually seek an organised event that they can join, but this usually incurs a significant cost from the organisers. Helped by Clare, Thrombosis UK’s fundraising lead, they discovered that for a group to join an officially organised Three Peaks Challenge the fee was over £1000. So, it was at this point Lewis decided that he was going to organise his own Three Peaks Challenge, wanting the charity to receive as much of the fundraising funds as possible. Amazingly, Lewis’s GoFundMe page had already raised £3,000 and this was increasing daily!

On 7^th September 2024, Lewis and his friends took on their Three Peaks Challenge, completing it in a staggering 8 hours and 5 minutes!! To support the team and keep up the encouragement, several individuals joined for parts of the challenge, completing one or two peaks.
