My journey to completing the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) was more than logging miles on Strava.
I train three times a week varying both distance and tempo to build my endurance and speed. Some runs push me physically, others mentally but all push me towards my goal. Hydration is key with my condition using electrolytes before and after each run to stay strong and recover. Living with an inherited blood clotting disorder, I have made the choice to not let it take control of my life. Running in events like this is me taking control. Reminding me I can achieve anything, and diagnosis doesn’t define my limits. My next race is the Nice Half Marathon in the South of France where I’ll be running with my father & brother both living with the same condition. Hopefully they can keep up! |
