On the 31st March 2021 I was diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) in my right leg & PE (Pulmonary Embolism) on my left lung. This was only 3 weeks after giving birth to my second son, Roman. When I received this news and was told I am extremely lucky to have had the symptoms I had (which forced me to go to have it looked at) as otherwise I wouldn’t be here today really opened my eyes as to how much I didn’t know about Blood clotting and of how high the risks are of forming them, especially after pregnancy.
Since diagnosis and being put on anticoagulation medication it didn’t stop there, after several scans concluded that the clotting had dislodged from my right leg but unfortunately moved to my stomach and still on my left lung so causes me, at times to struggle for breath as the clots cause my blood to try pump blood around faster so my heart rate is always so high which is a lot on my body. Currently my treatment includes, anticoagulation, a line of follow ups with Haematologists, Cardiologists and scans to check the state of the clots.
BUT I am here, and I could have been in a totally different setting due to the Blood Clots and I am so thankful that I am here to watch my kids grow up.
So I have decided to participate in an Obstacle 10K fun run on SUNDAY 17th APRIL 2022
So I have decided to participate in an Obstacle 10K fun run on SUNDAY 17th APRIL 2022 and I am asking for all of your help, of donations… if you could donate absolutely anything at all, I would be most appreciative! All money that I raise will be going straight to my chosen Charity, Thrombosis UK.
I’m doing this to promote awareness and raise money for Thrombosis UK
I’m doing this to promote awareness and raise money for Thrombosis UK, so that more people are familiar with blood clotting and will know the signs and ways to prevent forming clots.
