Charlotte's Fundraising Events

On 4th October 2014, Charlotte Anderson’s brother, Matthew, died suddenly and unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism.

In 2016 Charlotte undertook a variety of events in his memory and in 2019, Charlotte came back to undertake another fundraiser for us.

Chris's gruelling Ride Across Britain

In March 2014, Chris Tweedy’s wife, Nicky, had a routine day case varicose vein operation. Less than 36 hours later she sadly died of a pulmonary embolism when a blood clot formed at the operation site and travelled through her heart to her lungs.

Mark's 50km Swimming Challenge 2019

Following a pulmonary embolism (blood clot on the lung) in 2016, I took up swimming to help me recover physically and mentally.

I have challenged myself to complete 5 swimming marathons in 7 weeks. 

Charlotte's climb - Mount Snowden

In July 2019, I am participating in a group climb of Mount Snowdon with my school. I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity and am so excited about using it as an excuse to promote awareness and raise money for Thrombosis UK!

Team Shipley Walk 2019

The total raised by Team Shipley since 2012 for Thrombosis UK is £23,376.14p

On Friday 25th October 2019 Martin and Maureen Shipley completed their epic walk around the coast of the British Isles where it had begun at Robin Hood’s Bay on Valentine’s Day, 14th February all done in memory of Dawn, their daughter, who tragically died in 2011 aged just 37 leaving 3 beautiful girls behind her which has devastated this lovely family.
