Tony and Louise’s journey started in 2002, when Louise started developing DVTs. She had a total of 4 between 2002 and 2017 resulting in her being on life-long anticoagulation and left with severe damage to her veins.
In March 2014, Chris Tweedy’s wife, Nicky, had a routine day case varicose vein operation. Less than 36 hours later she sadly died of a pulmonary embolism when a blood clot formed at the operation site and travelled through her heart to her lungs.
I appreciate anyone taking the time out of their busy day to have a read through what I’m doing and why. At the beginning of June 2018 myself and my friends received some devastating and heart breaking news. My close friend Jo had suddenly and tragically Passed away.
I will be cycling from Bristol to Devizes for Thrombosis UK because I want to help raising awareness of blood clots
November of 2016, embarks us – Emma and Pamela – upon a 500 kilometre, 10 day cycle from the Pacific to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, in hopes of raising enough money in aid of Thrombosis UK.
Keen cyclist and TUK trustee, Simon Hart, took part in the Dulux London Revolution cycling challenge in May, riding 185 miles through and around London over 2 days, followed in July by the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 mile sportive.
On June 18th 2016 I will ride over 500 miles nonstop from Inverness, across to the West coast of Scotland and navigate the whole of the North coast, before returning to Inverness.
Cycling from London to Paris in memory of her Mum, Charlotte, who died in March 2016 aged just 47. Had to drop out last year due to injury, but back to smash it in 2018!
